Over the years I’ve eaten my fair share of turkey burgers, as I do not eat beef or pork. Most tend to be on the dry side or really dry side. Period. Not so in the case of celebrity chef Suzanne Goin’s Brentwood Tavern Grilled Turkey Burger, which may be the juiciest turkey burger EVAH! (Prior to tasting them I had pretty much come to the conclusion that a juicy turkey burger was a flat out oxymoron.) It’s also got a gutsy umami or that savory, meaty "fifth taste" to it.
Over the past few years I’ve been developing my version that I frequently make at home—especially during these hot summer months.
The Brentwood Tavern Inspired Grilled Turkey Burger
Ingredients
2 pounds dark ground turkey
1 medium sized egg
¼ cup Trader Joe’s Bruschetta Sauce (this adds great acidity!)
1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground pepper, freshly ground
DIRECTIONS
In large bowl, mix above ingredients together forming patties to your desired size. Grill to at least an internal temperature of 165ºF for safety. Serve on a toasted bun with tomatoes and/or thinly sliced red onions. ENJOY!
