ABOUT KARMA RESCUE
Karma Rescue is a non-profit organization saving at risk dogs from high-kill LA dog shelters. It has been voted “Best Dog Adoption” by LA Magazine and is dedicated to finding dogs permanent homes and providing the resources to make street dogs successful companions. Through education, they offer “guidance to strengthen the animal-human bond while reinforcing the critical need to spay/neuter all rescued animals.” Because of their hard work to help at risk dogs, they have come to the attention of and have received support or promotion from Dogswell (dog food), Petco (pet stores) and NKLA (No Kill Los Angeles). Yet the number of needy dogs is increasing and ongoing funds are critical to saving as many loving pets as possible from our city’s streets. Each donation is a wonderful step to help a needy dog. GRACIE
Gracie was rescued from the South Los Angeles shelter. She had what was called a "skin disease". But, there was no skin disease. The veterinarian confirmed that acid had been thrown in Gracie's face. Dog-fighting rings abuse dogs in this heinous way, believing it will make dogs mean. But alas, Gracie didn’t have a mean bone in her body, so she was casually dumped at the shelter after suffering this abuse.Karma Rescue searched for that perfect home during Gracie's recovery period. With time, Gracie healed and she now lives with a wonderful adoptive family, who adore her and is thankful for every moment they have with her.

RAY CHARLES
Mr. Ray Charles, a three-month old blue pit bull terrier mix, was rescued from the Carson, CA shelter. Karma Rescue immediately took him to the veterinarian to examine his obvious eye ailments. Ray was diagnosed with a condition called microphthalmia – a birth defect resulting in blindness. Even worse, Ray had glaucoma in one eye which was unresponsive to treatment. It was recommended that Ray have the eye surgically removed.Regardless of these medical issues, Ray will find his way into a loving, permanent home. What he lacks in eyesight he more than makes up for with a great nose, a superb pair of floppy ears and his incredible, kind heart. Through careful care and love, his eye looks way better!

LENNON
Lennon, a sweet and soulful six year old chow-Shepard mix, was rescued by American Fitness Couture and Karma rescue founder, Rande Levine, on Christmas Eve 2013, from a downtown LA industrial parking lot. No Christmas cheer for him, Lennon was in very bad shape. He’d been eating leftover garbage from food trucks and garbage dumpsters. He was emaciated, had mange over his entire body, and was afraid to make human contact.
Lennon, a sweet and soulful six year old chow-Shepard mix, was rescued by American Fitness Couture and Karma rescue founder, Rande Levine, on Christmas Eve 2013, from a downtown LA industrial parking lot. No Christmas cheer for him, Lennon was in very bad shape. He’d been eating leftover garbage from food trucks and garbage dumpsters. He was emaciated, had mange over his entire body, and was afraid to make human contact.AFC completely covered his extensive medical bills to get him healthy and personally fostered him in our home with two Maine coon cats. Through the help of Karma’s adoption services, a loving couple recently adopted Lennon. He continues to receive veterinary care for his skin condition, which is slowly improving. And he gets weekly visits from Linda Larue who takes him for a walk each Friday morning. Lennon is now a happy little guy who loves kisses and gives warm, full-body welcome wiggles to pretty much everyone he greets – truly a happy Hollywood ending!
